WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?

Telehealth involves a consultation with a healthcare provider by video or telephone call. As part of the COVID response of the Australian Government, Telehealth is now available to all patients attending appointments with a consultant physician. This is also a popular option for our regional patients. Dr Samanthi Cooray conducts telehealth consultations with patients.

A video link will be provided to you prior to the appointment, and at your scheduled appointment time, click on the link and wait in the virtual waiting room until you are called.

How does Telehealth Video Call work?

  1. Prior to your appointment you will be given a link to access the Telehealth consultation.
  2. You will need either a smartphone, tablet, or laptop or desktop computer with a functioning camera and microphone.
  3. Find a reasonably quiet location with good internet connection.
  4. When it is your appointment time, log in and wait in the virtual waiting room until the doctor is ready for your consultation.
  5. Following the consultation, our reception staff will call you to schedule in any review appointments and can collect payment by credit card over the phone. Medicare rebates will be processed back into your bank account as usual.
